Hi folks. Lopez here. I'm not crying right now. If you didn't hear, I said this morning that I cried while watching the movie "Bridge To Terabithia". I've never cried so much for a movie in my life. It was crazy. I won't tell you why I cried because I don't want to give anything away, but it really got me going!
So, I guess there is no manly way to describe tears, but if you can think of one, please let me know!
It was a pretty good movie too. I liked it. What about you? Any movie make you cry a lot? More than the usual sad movie? We want to know!
That's about it for today. It's hard to see the screen with teary eyes.
I'm off to get a tissue.
Enjoy!

Back To School
Lopez here! And it's back to school time! Yay! Or Boooooo! Depends on your age I guess.
We talked about what kids "had" to have before they went back to school and it's the usual stuff. Little kids want stuff with Sponge Bob or Disney Princess. Older kids want high tech stuff.
I don't really remember my first day of school. From any year. I do remember a picture I have in a Ghostbusters shirt with my lunchbox getting ready for a big day at school. I look small in the picture, so I think it's a long time ago.
I don't remember asking for anything before school started. I think I was just one of those kids who didn't ask for anything. Though, my mom might say the opposite, but I'm sure she's getting me confused with my siblings (yeah, right).
I think my favorite thing was getting new shoes. I actually still get a new pair every year around this time. It makes it feel like the first day of school again.
What did you "have" to have for your first day? Did you ever get it, or did you just beg a lot?
With that, I think it's time I got some new shoes! I'll talk to you tomorrow!

Aliens or med students?
How was your weekend! Lopez here with more bloggin for your noggin!
Well, I had a weird dream this weekend. I dreamt I was having some sort of surgery done to me. I can't remember what it was, but I remember having the crazy dream. Then I woke up thinking I was in a hospital bed. Luckily I was just in my own bed. Unluckily, I did not really have a bed pan, so I had to get up.
I think when people have dreams like that, they are abducted by aliens! That or med students who need the practice. Either way, I think I have some sort of implant in me so they can keep tabs on me. Spooky!
I'm sure some folks out there have had some weird dreams. What has happened to you? I never dream that I'm a super hero or anything like that. Anybody out there ever dream that? Let me know!
I have to go. I guess some men all in black are here to talk to me. I wonder what they want...

Canada Candy...or Canandy
Hi. Lopez here with candy fun. Canada has great candy. I don't know why they don't sell some of the ideas here. I've said before that the Wunderbar (I pronounce it Vooondurbar) is my favorite, well, it now has some competition.
Here's what they do in Canada (sort of). They take two yummy candy options and say, "Hey, wouldn't be awesome if we just put these two great things together?"
Would you like to know the answer? IT'S "YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would be awesome!"
The Wunder bar is caramel and peanut butter crunch, like eating a Caramello and Butterfinger at the same time.
Mr. Big is a fun bar I tried. All they did was shove a vanilla wafer inside of a Payday. Seriously! It's awesome too!
Then I tried a Coffee Crisp. This is really good. It's just coffee flavored wafer covered in chocolate. So good.
I forgot the name of one of the bars I had. BUT, I'll explain it to you. When I think of Malted Milk Balls, I think of Whoppers. You know that inside "malted?" part? (I guess that's the malting process). Well, do that with caramel, and that was another great bar.
Finally! The bar that you can sometimes get in the International section of the supermarket is the Aero Bar. It's just a chocolate bar with air bubbles in it. Silly you say? Well, for some reason, air bubbled chocolate tastes fabulous. They have it in Mint and Caramel. All flavors are good.
Find them all. Eat them all. Repeat if necessary (which it is).
I hope I've put everybody in the mood for candy. What is you favorite candy? I would love to find out!
Also, a little F.Y.I., I heard that Canada has different "regulations" for their jelly bean ingredients, so I don't know if they taste different, but I am going to find out someday. I like candy research.
I've blabbed enough, it's time to shush up and eat something with sugar.

beautiful hair
Hi. Lopez here again. AND I just got a new hair dryer. I. Love. It. My old one was held together with duct tape, but it worked, so I didn't care. I get a little rough when it comes to my hair. I'm sure many of you can understand.
My NEW hair dryer is red and sexy. It also came with attachments. I kid you not! A diffuser and a concentrator. I prefer the concentrator. I spent, like, an hour at Target in the hair dryer section making sure it had a concentrator.
It's sad to see the old one go, but she was tough, so it's ok.
That's all I got today. I did buy some rainbow twizzlers also. I'm having a torrid affair with them these days. It'll pass when I find a new candy to drool over.
Oooh...I'll have to tell you about Canadian Candy. I forgot to do that. Maybe tomorrow...
Enjoy!

Legends
Well, it's Lopez here with some somber news. Many of you know that I'm a big fan of comic books. Well, about ten years ago or so there was a writer/artist team on Spider-Man that I loved. It was writer Todd Dezago and artist Mike Wieringo (Ringo for short). Ever since then I bought everything they've worked on because they're both so talented. I had the honor or meeting Todd a few years ago and we've kept in touch and he's told me wonderful things about Mike. Sadly, Mike died last week at 44. It came out of nowhere and it's a shame that such a talented artist isn't with us anymore.
I know most, if not all, of you don't really know who he is, but you should check him out. He and Todd did a comic called Tellos that you should buy and read to your children. It's an all-ages fantasy story that is perfect for the family.
You can get a collection of the Tellos comics soon. I'll let you know. Before that, you can check out some websites to see how cool he was.
Mike's Website: http://www.mikewieringo.com/
Todd's Blog: http://perhapanauts.blogspot.com/
I could go on a while about his awesome art, but hopefully you'll check it out.
Enjoy

Heroes (not the TV show, even though that is awesome)
Hi again folks. It's Lopez back from vacation. I had to spend yesterday catching up on a LOT of stuff. I say "stuff" to keep the language clean on this blog.
I hope everybody had a wonderful week. I saw that Dina posted once. Not too bad, Dina.
Well, on vacation, I saw pretty flowers in Halifax. It was cool. I saw a bunch of other stuff too, but I really can't remember it. Hopefully it'll all come back to me. It's too early to remember vacation and when you're back at work, it's like you never left. Oh well...
Anyways, I saw that kids picked their parents as their heroes in a recent poll. Yeah, not Spider-Man or Superman, but their parents! Now, unless your parents are Spider-Man, I don't get it. That's just silly. My parents might be cool, but I don't think they've ever saved the universe from certain destruction. If they did, they didn't tell me.
It is good to see people pick their parents, though. Who would you pick?
I'm off to fight Galactus. Avengers Assemble!

These Spiderman boxers feel weird....
Hi Everybody! Lopez is out this week, so I'm wearing the blogging pants, and as we all know, Lopez is particular to Spidey shorts, which I'm not finding too comfortable. Anyway, I would have posted yesterday, but I was having a terrible morning. Actually, it was a great morning up until the point when I busted my shoe. My favorite pair of black shoes - my strappy heels! Augh! The horror! Mind you, I had a pair of sneakers in the car, but they wouldn't have matched my black skirt and print shirt. So, what's a fashion-conscious girl to do? I kept that shoe on with two rubber bands. And guess what - it worked! Now I've got to find a good shoe surgeon to fix my love. I guess I shouldn't have been running down the hall when I smelled the pizza from Dunkin Donuts. Hey, around this place, if you don't sprint towards the food, you get lost in the crush! It's more dangerous than roller derby. Okay, so D&D isn't exactly on my "diet" but they say it's okay to give in to a craving every now and then. Pizza is one of my biggest weaknesses. What's yours? No, that's not a pick-up line. I'm really asking! Feel free to share.
Until we meet again....

Laziness...or meetings..
Lopez here again!
Well, I'm sorry I've been slacking on the posts this week. We had a LOT of meetings going on. I won't say why, but let's say that it was stinky! Like old sweaty sock stinky. Yeah. You know what I'm talking about.
I hope I get to see a HUGE lego guy like the one we talked about this morning. How cool would that be? Finding a huge lego guy on the beach? How do you lose an eight foot tall lego man? Maybe it's from the land of giants and to them, it's the size of a lego man for us, so losing it is easy. That makes complete sense. I'm glad I figured that out.
Well, I have to get a lot of work done so I can go home and pack for my trip. I have my fake canadian money and I'm ready to buy Wunderbars. WHAT?!?!?! You don't know what a Wunderbar is???? Well, it is heaven put in candy bar form. Think of combining a caramello and a butter finger and mix it with a cup of awesome and you have a Wunderbar. You can only get them in Canada. So, go to the border, buy some and enjoy.
Hopefully Dina will find the time to post a few times next week. I know Paul won't. I TRIED to teach him how, but it was hard:
Me, "See, Paul, this is a keyboard."
Paul, "A cupboard? I thought I put food in the cupboard?"
Me, "No...a KEY-BOARD. It's for typ....aw forget it...DINA! You got blog duty!"
Ok. I'll post when I get back. If something cool happens while I'm on vacation. I'll let you know! Hopefully they will let me cross the border. There was that one time I....oops, gotta go!

Mug, Freebies and Books...Oh MY!
Lopez here again. I hope everybody enjoyed the rain this morning! It always makes my hair a mess. The horror!
Well, I had a lot of questions in the last post, so here are some answers!
The book we talked about on Monday is "The Playskool Toddler's Busy Play Book" by Robin McClure. Actually, it looks like Playskool is putting out a bunch of toddler books. If you find one, you might find them all. Good luck!
The next person wanted to know the answer to the 7:15 Freebie on Tuesday. The phrase was "You eeeeediot!". That is from "Ren and Stimpy"! One of my most favoritest shows ever! Happy, Happy, Joy Joy!
FINALLY! I got a mug. Oh yes. A mug to end all mugs! A mug to give mugs a great name in history! A MUG TO PUT OTHER MUGS TO SHAME IN THE ACT OF MUGGING!!!! It's a Yoda mug. It's awesome. Yoda is in attack mode when he's about to beat on the the emperor in the senate. It's from Episode 3. I love the old Star Wars episodes better, BUT Yoda is hardcore in the new ones. I mean seriously, did you see Episode 2? The way he whips around with his light saber? You really can't get much better than that.
now i want a light saber...to stir the tea in my AWESOME MUG!!!!!!
I'll be quiet now. Whew. I'm off to my Jedi training.
May the Force be with you.
-Lopez (I think I just found a great way to sign off of my posts...sweet)

Just Get A Leash
Hi there! Lopez here with some words of wisdom...I think.
We talked to a lady this morning about a bunch of great ideas to keep your toddler occupied. I say just get a leash, put the kid in the back yard and put out a dish of food. If the rugrat complains, well, you won't hear it because you're indoors!
Anybody got any other great ideas to keep toddlers occupied? For all sorts of occasions like outdoor summer play or rainy days. Let us know.
Now go enjoy the day!

Hamster Dancing
Hi there! Lopez here again. Finishing up a long week of filling in for Paul. Whew...lots of extra work to do! That is why I missed a post yesterday. I'm sorry! I left here late and totally forgot to do it. whoops!
Somebody asked about the Friday Song. Well, for legal reasons, we cannot play a song that we used to call the "Friday Song". It's long and weird. BUT! I did play the Hamster Dance today hoping that would get people excited! It always works for me.
That's about it for today. I hope you Hamster Danced your way to work today and that it keeps you pumped for the weekend. I'll be back on Monday and hopefully I'll have a new mug. Oh yeah...I'm hoping to get a new mug soon. I don't know why. Sometimes you just have to buy something, right?
Enjoy!
